How does Havening work?
A trauma is like being frozen in time of the moment when the trauma occurred. We relive it again and again. We relive it with the help of the triggers to remind us it was very, very unsafe, life threatening unsafe.
When the memory is triggered, through simple touch to the hands, upper arms, and or the face we actively put ourselves into Delta Waves. Delta Waves are one of several different brain waves which naturally occur in our brain.
While being in Delta Waves our brain works on the sensory part of the trauma and can significantly or completely reduce our reaction to triggers.
Havening is very gentle and relaxing.
